Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to play a critical role in delivering capital construction projects for US Federal Government Clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support a construction management team to deliver capital construction projects.
  • Coordinate and administer a group of projects or one major project with the assistance of the project team.
  • Review contracts, scope documents, and available data for the project, and confirm compliance with work completed by the general contractor.
  • Support an integrated project team approach in working with designers, contractors, and governing agencies.
  • Review and comment on design submissions, change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and represent the client interests to ensure control of and validate change orders are current, fair, and efficiently processed.
  • Review comments received from governing agencies on behalf of the client and coordinate timely resolutions.
  • Proactively monitor critical project milestone dependencies, and track actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones.
  • Review project key performance indicators and forecasts any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconcile risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets.
  • Monitor and control contractual commitments to assure work being performed is in accordance with the specifications and terms of the contracts.
  • Review builder submittals and RFI documents, and provide field surveillance to ensure specified quality of design.
  • Conduct project coordination and client meetings as necessary to review progress and discuss upcoming work.
  • Work with stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflicts, disputes, and potential claims on behalf of the client.
Qualifications:
  • AA/AS (US) in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with US Federal Government projects.
  • 2+ years of progressive construction quality assurance, project inspection experience that includes knowledge of project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, and turnover to operations.
  • Experience assisting in contact management, reviewing budgets, schedules, overseeing subcontractor performance, and working with stakeholders and governing agencies on behalf of a public-works owner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM).
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
