Job Overview
DPR Construction is in search of a Project Accountant/Senior Project Accountant with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in commercial construction financial management.

This role is pivotal for overseeing the daily financial operations of project accounts. Senior Project Accountants will collaborate closely with various project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, superintendents, and field office coordinators.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing the project accounting team.
  • Providing mentorship and training to team members to foster professional growth and apply DPR's core people practices.
  • Handling project accounting tasks such as preparing owner draws, ensuring compliance with subcontractor agreements, and collections.
  • Creating and analyzing comprehensive financial reports.
  • Managing journal entries and job costing for projects.
  • Assisting in strategic planning and forecasting of project financials.
  • Overseeing cash management and reporting activities.
  • Potentially managing a small accounting team of 2-3 employees.
  • Supporting project audits.

Qualifications
We seek a flexible, detail-oriented team player capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work within deadlines.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional listening and communication skills.
  • Adeptness in identifying and resolving complex financial issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting cost management software (CMIC or similar).
  • 6-8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction sector.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or CCIFP certification.
  • A strong work ethic coupled with a proactive attitude.
