The King County Housing Authority is seeking a skilled professional to take on the role of Financial Planning Manager. This pivotal position is responsible for overseeing the budgeting process and conducting financial analysis to support the agency's mission.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Manage the workforce budget effectively.
- Provide stakeholders with timely and insightful financial performance data to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for technology integration and process improvement.
- Supervise and mentor a team of Planning Analysts.

As an integral part of the Finance Department, the Financial Planning Manager will ensure the delivery of accurate financial data to support various housing programs and initiatives.

Specific Duties Include:
- Overseeing the development of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Coordinating proposals for budget initiatives and evaluating staffing needs.
- Assessing the feasibility of proposed plans and projects.
- Distributing the finalized budget and acting as a financial resource for senior management.
- Training staff on budgeting processes and establishing efficient budget procedures.

The role also involves analyzing financial performance against the budget to identify trends and variances, making recommendations, and ensuring financial systems are optimized for budget development.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in budgeting, accounting, finance, or financial planning and analysis, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of public administration policies and housing finance practices.
- Proficient in GAAP, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex data to diverse audiences.
- Ability to lead a collaborative team and manage multiple projects effectively.
