About the Role:
The City of Tukwila is in search of a Chief Financial Officer to join the City's executive team.
This position is tasked with overseeing a team of 14 professionals and is responsible for the strategic planning, development, execution, management, and assessment of the Finance department's initiatives in alignment with the city's current and future requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a seasoned, forward-thinking, and cooperative leader who is genuinely dedicated to the prosperity of the City and possesses a strategic, holistic approach to financial management.
The Chief Financial Officer will proactively address financial challenges, understand the broader implications of fiscal matters, and embrace diverse viewpoints while recognizing the interconnectedness of personnel, teams, operational processes, and results.
Applicants should demonstrate a successful track record as a senior financial executive and manager within a multifaceted organization, exhibit strong public speaking abilities, and be adept at effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline; along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible financial and governmental accounting experience in a senior leadership capacity within a complex governmental entity, for-profit organization, or non-profit organization that involves managing a diverse team and substantial financial resources.
