Job Title: Accounting and HR Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting and HR Manager to join our team at Express Employment Professionals Toledo Ohio. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing both Accounting and HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our business.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee company bank accounts, reconciliations, and asset management.
  • Manage journal entries, taxes, rent payments, and loan payments.
  • Direct liaison with our CPA firm to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files and Job Boss profiles.
  • Process hiring, firing, and status change paperwork, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective new employee orientation programs.
  • Manage FMLA and Disability paperwork, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Oversee worker's compensation paperwork and filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with temporary agencies and manage paperwork related to temporary employees.
  • Address employee-related issues and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Manage apprenticeship paperwork and maintain the employee handbook.

Insurance Responsibilities

  • Manage employee enrollments and changes in insurance plans.
  • Maintain and manage reports related to insurance benefits.
  • Reconcile and manage all insurance-related general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee claims and manage invoice payments related to insurance benefits.
  • Participate in discussions and decision-making processes related to insurance renewals.
  • Direct liaison with insurance advisors and other insurance-related individuals.
  • Communicate plan changes to employees and address any issues that may arise.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, HR practices, and insurance regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
