About the Role

MSH is seeking a highly skilled professional to support communication initiatives for the USAID MTaPS program, country portfolios, and Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). This individual will be responsible for managing social media and newsletters, as well as planning and executing campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Social Media Management and Newsletter
    • Implement social media plans in coordination with MTaPS, external partners, and the MSH Communications team.
    • Maintain an editorial calendar and coordinate graphics and design requests.
    • Provide support to MTaPS staff members to enhance their social media skills through cheat sheets, one-on-one support, and small group sessions as required.
    • Manage the newsletter process from drafting to publishing.
  • Developing Content and Editing
    • Assist in coordinating, developing, and editing news articles, blogs, success stories, and other communication materials with a focus on Asia and E. Africa portfolios.
    • Facilitate the dissemination of news articles and stories to missions through Asia and E. Africa country teams and other channels.
  • Web Content Management
    • Upload news articles and stories, develop web content to showcase new products and upcoming events/webinars.
    • Provide backup support for uploading reports, tools, and other materials as needed.
    • Obtain analytics and reports regularly.
  • Events and Strategic Communications Support
    • Guide Asia and E. Africa teams on communication initiatives in alignment with the Senior Communications Manager.
    • Support online webinars and in-person events by coordinating pre and post-communication tasks such as invitations, promotions, and social media coverage.
  • Message Campaigns
    • Develop graphics and content to promote Pharmaceutical Systems Strengthening (PSS), international days and weeks, and special events and MTaPS products.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in public health, international development, communications, or related field. Preferably a graduate degree.
    • Six (6) years of strategic communications experience, with a strong emphasis on social media.
    • 4-6 years of communications experience in a global health setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Thorough understanding of global health issues.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills in English.
    • Proficient in using social media, graphics, and materials for promoting global health projects.
    • Experience with USAID and non-profit organizations is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in managing online/virtual communications platforms.
    • Strong computer skills with expertise in social media, web content management, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations (proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred).
    • Team player with resourcefulness and the ability to work independently.
    • Demonstrated experience working in or with low and middle-income countries is preferred.
    • Experience in project administration is a plus.
    • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple activities in a time-sensitive manner, meeting deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
    • Professional proficiency in written and oral French, Spanish, or other relevant languages is beneficial.

What We Offer

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 annually (U.S. locations only). MSH carefully considers various job-related factors, including business needs, candidate qualifications, internal equity, location, and budget, when making an offer.

Salary is just one component of MSH's competitive benefits package, which also includes significant vacation, sick and holiday policies, training programs, insurance coverage, a 401k plan, and more.

The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US and can perform the job remotely within the country.
