Job Title: Juvenile Justice Specialist I (Community Justice)Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Juvenile Justice Specialist I (Community Justice). This role will involve working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, providing guidance, support, and supervision to help them achieve their goals and make positive changes in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Admit and release youth to the County detention or residential program according to state law, contractual obligations, and department and division policy.
  • Supervise all youth in an unbiased manner, responding to major and minor disturbances, restoring and maintaining security, order, and schedule of activities.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain detailed case files, ensuring accurate and complete documentation of youths' behavior, attitudes, and actions.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships at all levels.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or at least two years of college coursework in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, communication studies, human services, or education.
  • Six months of experience working with the criminal justice system, social services system, or with children or youth.
  • Requires possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
