Position Summary:
The Extrusion Process Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes. This position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at optimizing production and enhancing product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct statistical and trend analysis of data collected for process improvement and project initiatives.
  • Calibrate extrusion tests and manage the setup and repair of various controls, instruments, and gauges used to measure process variables.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to collect statistical data and implement new work processes.
  • Utilize statistical software and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) for diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.
  • Document results, findings, conclusions, and recommendations related to projects for engineering leadership.
  • Identify and propose safety and process improvement opportunities, including evaluating underperforming equipment and cost reduction strategies.
  • Implement new or revised processes, procedures, and operating practices across all areas of production.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the appropriate computerized format.
  • Review Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures annually for updates.
  • Engage with vendors to gather information that can enhance facility processes.
  • Assist in identifying training needs for production staff and deliver necessary training.
  • Ensure compliance with product specifications for both final and intermediate products.
  • Work collaboratively with process and project teams to resolve issues and participate in or lead Kaizen events.
  • Communicate achievements and updates to facility personnel.
  • Troubleshoot significant mechanical and electrical issues.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience related to extrusion processes.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Availability to work standard hours with on-call responsibilities.
  • Experience with polystyrene foam is advantageous.
  • Skills in inventory management and quality assurance tracking.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes related to equipment.

Compensation and Benefits:
