Job Overview

POSITION: Treasury Manager


COMPENSATION: $130,000 to $135,000/Year DOE

Sign-On Bonus: This position includes a 4% sign-on bonus based on the annual salary for new hires.


Position Responsibilities

The Treasury Manager will oversee the financial operations of Charities Housing, focusing on cash management, liquidity, funding, and maintaining relationships with financial institutions. This role will also provide essential support to the Director of Asset Management across various functions.


Qualifications

Experience: Candidates must possess prior experience in treasury management, including oversight of debt portfolios, cash flow forecasting, and funding analysis techniques. A strong analytical background and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience in reviewing financial data within the affordable housing sector is preferred.


Skills: The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and enjoy collaborative work.


Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational skills are required, with the ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and interact professionally in a fast-paced office environment.


Minimum Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required.

Experience: A minimum of five years of professional treasury experience is necessary, with a preference for candidates with experience in the affordable housing industry.


Supervision

This position reports directly to the Director of Asset Management and may receive guidance from higher-level positions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Charities' debt portfolio, ensuring timely payments, periodic reconciliations, and resolution of payment issues while monitoring compliance with debt covenants.
  • Manage lender-held escrow accounts, reviewing analyses of escrow balances and addressing issues promptly.
  • Conduct cash needs assessments at the property level, determining the appropriate timing and amount for reserve withdrawals.
  • Analyze the financial performance of properties, understanding cash flow rules, and making informed decisions regarding excess working capital distribution.
  • Track intercompany borrowing transactions, preparing monthly reports and quarterly treasury updates for the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies regarding reserves.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banking and lending institutions, seeking opportunities to optimize banking services.
  • Implement and review investment strategies, ensuring an optimal balance of risk and return while maintaining necessary liquidity.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting/Finance team to facilitate the annual audit process.
  • Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

  • Capability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
