Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate all facets of our lending and collection operations, driving strategic initiatives while ensuring outstanding member service delivery.
  • Direct the activities of personnel across all lending sectors, including underwriting, loan processing, documentation, and the approval or denial of loans for consumer, mortgage, or business purposes.
  • Oversee and assess the daily collection efforts of lending staff and strategic collection partners.
  • Develop and review daily procedures for collection activities, and prepare reports on delinquency and collection activities for lending staff, management, and the board.
  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of credit union lending, establishing consistent lending procedures across branches.
  • Conduct loan audits in collaboration with the Member Service Processor to ensure timely resolutions and risk mitigation, providing feedback to branch managers for coaching purposes.
  • Offer continuous leadership and support to lending staff through coaching, project assignments, technical assistance, and oversight of daily lending performance.
  • Perform Mortgage Loan Audits to ensure compliance with mortgage regulations and timelines.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to evaluate portfolio performance and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Ensure promotion of all lending products and services, delivering quality lending service to all members.
  • Maintain regular communication with branch managers and the member service processor, providing lending support, insights, and guidance regarding daily operations.
  • Analyze branch activities, including loan volume and ancillary products, coordinating with branch managers for necessary coaching.
  • Research and assess the viability of new lending products, developing and implementing plans for the expansion of lending programs.
  • Act as a primary contact for addressing member escrow inquiries and assist the Member Service Processor in reviewing and verifying annual member escrow statements.
  • Foster and manage various lending strategic partner relationships.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain lending procedures to enhance efficiency and quality of work, ensuring consistent quality loan service for members.
  • Collaborate with the executive team on hiring, training, promotions, transfers, terminations, and other employee status changes.
  • Qualify as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) and comply with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration process.
  • Serve as a backup for processing, underwriting, and closing loans for both consumer and mortgage loan products.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of seven years in lending operations, with at least five years in a leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in banking, finance, or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience in banking/finance.
  • Demonstrated success in portfolio management, collections, and achieving lending objectives.
  • Strong member service, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  • Results-oriented and member-focused.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
