Job Overview

The Clinical Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of clinical teams to ensure compliance with care standards and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture a proficient team through effective recruitment, training, performance evaluation, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Establish policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the Clinical Department.
  • Conduct and supervise clinical quality assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Track productivity metrics to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Provide regular oversight and documentation of supervision in line with industry standards.
  • Engage in both internal and external meetings to evaluate and enhance services and resources to meet member needs effectively.
  • Facilitate access for Clinical Care Managers to provider sites for member engagement.
  • Accompany Clinical Care Managers and Supervisors in community interactions approximately 10-15% of the time for ongoing support and feedback.
  • Conduct case consultations with staff to provide clinical guidance.
  • Collaborate with Physician Advisors to ensure appropriate consultations for high-risk members.
  • Proactively manage crisis situations as they arise.
  • Work in tandem with Clinical Care Management Coordinators from other teams to ensure cohesive longitudinal care management.
  • Partner with the Quality Management Department to identify and address provider stability indicators.
  • Maintain effective collaboration with other departments to promote operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure clear communication of critical information related to members and providers.
  • Analyze data pertinent to team operations and member care to inform interventions.
  • Ensure that team members are well-versed in evidence-based practices and that these practices are regularly discussed in supervision sessions.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches for decision-making.
  • Exemplify and demand high standards of customer service in interactions with members and providers.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Team-Specific Duties:

  • Oversee the operations of specialized clinical programs.
  • Continuously enhance care management strategies and explore opportunities for growth.
  • Foster relationships with behavioral and physical health providers to establish effective communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure a holistic, evidence-based approach to member care.
  • Implement targeted interventions aimed at reducing readmissions and service utilization.
  • Utilize data to identify members with specific behavioral health needs and ensure they receive appropriate support.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Care Plan team and other departmental teams to promote integrated care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Licensure: Preferred; progress towards licensure required within an agreed timeframe. PA Child Abuse Clearance is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret utilization reports.
  • Understanding of mental health and substance abuse interventions.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office with a typing speed of at least 20 words per minute.
  • Able to collaborate effectively in team environments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong clinical competencies.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision for complex cases.
  • Critical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills.

  • Travel may be required, including overnight trips.
