Position Overview:

The Clinical Pathology Supervisor is responsible for managing operations within essential areas of anatomic pathology, including specimen handling, gross examination, autopsy procedures, and biobanking activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and engage in all facets of laboratory work, including frozen section analysis, grossing, and autopsy processes.
  • Lead educational initiatives for pathology residents and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Drive quality enhancement projects, maintain quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) documentation, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with a minimum of 26 science credits, along with relevant experience in a CLIA laboratory.

A Master of Science or Master of Health Science Degree from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists Assistant program is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years working as a non-certified pathologist assistant in a cancer center laboratory, high-volume private practice, community hospital, or academic medical center is required. Additionally, 2 years of experience as a certified pathologist assistant is preferred.

Additional Information: All personnel at Temple University Hospital must be vaccinated or possess an agency-approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19.
