Position Overview

WGI Inc is in search of a skilled Senior Land Surveyor and Mapping Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience to enhance our team.

In this role, you will function as a Survey Project Manager, overseeing a variety of survey tasks for both public and private sectors. Your responsibilities will include leading teams of technicians and field personnel to successfully execute extensive public and private infrastructure projects, while collaborating with other discipline leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee field crews and technicians to define project responsibilities and priorities.
  • Coordinate with other discipline leaders to establish scheduling goals and project milestones.
  • Delegate daily tasks to survey field crews and office technicians.
  • Conduct boundary assessments for large-scale corridor, route, or sectionalized land surveys.
  • Authorize and seal surveys, maps, and related documents as the responsible professional for survey and mapping initiatives.
  • Implement in-process quality control for survey field operations, calculations, and preliminary project outputs.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid licensure as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in the State of Florida.
  • Proficient technical skills, including familiarity with Microstation or AutoCAD (Civil3D preferred).
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of the job. Adequate hand-eye coordination is necessary for operating a computer, keyboard, and mouse. The use of a telephone headset will facilitate virtual communication with team members through video conferencing platforms. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods, utilize hands/fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear. Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
