KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROCUREMENT

  • Source and acquire products in accordance with store policies, prioritizing biodynamic, organic, and local selections.
  • Investigate new supply options and build partnerships with local producers.
  • Process incoming orders, adhering to established protocols, and manage vendor credits as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and current PLU information, promptly entering new items and pricing updates into the POS system in collaboration with the POS coordinator.
  • Analyze sales data to assess product performance, adjusting inventory to optimize sales and maintain a balanced SKU count.
  • Review invoices for discrepancies and coordinate with the Finance department for resolution.
  • Manage product returns and ensure supplier credits are obtained when applicable.

MERCHANDISING

  • Design and uphold an appealing, well-stocked, and organized department.
  • Ensure department signage is accurate and consistently updated.
  • Regularly refresh displays and manage inventory rotation.
  • Set competitive pricing to meet sales and margin objectives.
  • Assist customers with inquiries regarding beer and wine selections.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Implement inventory counts in line with operational standards.
  • Contribute to the establishment of sales and margin targets for the department.
  • Review financial performance reports with the Beer and Wine Manager and take necessary corrective actions.
  • Participate in departmental and store-wide meetings.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in the Beer and Wine sector.
  • Strong understanding of beer and wine products.
  • Knowledge of margin pricing strategies.
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening and clear instructions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving job requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in purchasing beer and wine.
  • Awareness of trends within the natural foods industry.
  • Familiarity with department offerings.
