Faculty Leadership Position in Cancer Research

The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a highly accomplished and experienced researcher to serve as the Associate Director of Population Science. This senior executive leader will report to the Director of the SKCCC and the Chair of the Department of Medical Oncology.
The ideal candidate will be a funded investigator with a strong track record of building multi-disciplinary teams and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Molecular and genetic cancer epidemiology
- Cancer risk assessment and screening
- Discovering and validating biomarkers of cancer risk, progression, and prognosis
- Cancer prevention and control
- Behavioral intervention in cancer care
- Cancer survivorship
- Outcomes research
- Palliative care
- Smoking and tobacco use
- Geriatric oncology
- Health disparities in cancer
- Implementation science
The Associate Director of Population Science will focus on enhancing population science research within the SKCCC and the Department, developing strategic initiatives with basic, clinical, population, and translational researchers, and expanding community outreach, engagement, and education efforts.
The SKCCC is an NCI-designated consortium cancer center that includes researchers from Thomas Jefferson University and Drexel University. The center has a successful population science cancer risk and control research program with over $13m in peer-reviewed funding and 34 full members from 15 departments at Jefferson and Drexel.
Recruited faculty will be provided with generous start-up funds, a competitive salary, and modern facilities, along with administrative and infrastructure services. Successful candidates will have access to cancer registries and evolving resources of various types of cancer biorepositories developed within the cancer center.
