Faculty Position in Aging and Cardiovascular Research

Position Overview:
The Aging + Cardiovascular Discovery Center (ACDC) at Temple University is actively seeking candidates for tenure-track faculty roles within the realms of basic and clinical sciences, particularly emphasizing cardiovascular health and disease, neuroscience, metabolism, and aging. We invite applications from qualified early-career individuals aiming for the Assistant Professor level, as well as seasoned professionals interested in an Associate Director position.
The ACDC fosters a dynamic and engaging research atmosphere, welcoming candidates eager to explore the fundamental mechanisms underlying cardiovascular and brain health. Established in 2023 under the leadership of Dr. John Elrod, the ACDC emerged from the merger of the Center for Translational Medicine and the Cardiovascular Research Center. Our faculty boasts a strong history of scientific achievement and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of researchers. The center's multidisciplinary research interests encompass various fields, including vascular, cardiac, pulmonary, neurodegenerative, developmental, and metabolic pathophysiology. Collaboration and collegiality are integral to our success, supported by two current NHLBI project program grants and multiple co-PI awards.
Temple's ACDC occupies over 30,000 square feet of open laboratory space within a state-of-the-art research facility. Faculty members have access to advanced equipment, including a premier genomics core, imaging facilities, metabolomics expertise, and a mutant mouse and surgical core. The research portfolios of successful candidates will complement and enhance ongoing basic, translational, and clinical research initiatives at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and the Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a PhD, M.D., MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, along with a strong academic background. Only high-impact scientists with established research programs and a proven track record of securing fellowship funding will be considered.
