About the Role

Quantum Research International is seeking a highly skilled SATCOM Systems Maintainer / Integrator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the preparation, development, and implementation of hardware and software-based systems support to integration, and development tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance and Integration: Perform routine, non-routine, and complex maintenance on satellite communication systems, including communications, networking, antenna, power, timing, signal distribution, trucks, trailers, environmental control, and support equipment.
  • Integration and Testing: Integrate program/project-specific hardware and software into systems for specific configurations to support test, maintenance, upgrades, and/or exercise events.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Apply technical knowledge to aid troubleshooting and resolution of complex SATCOM problems, and provide input to senior maintainers, project leads, and program managers on analysis of technologies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in preparation of documentation to substantiate the integration of all aspects of the project, and document and report system status and fix actions.
  • Travel and Deployment: Deploy SATCOM systems to support training exercises and contingency deployments in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Implement and ensure adherence to operations, maintenance, and organizational procedures and policies.
  • Training and Development: Provide formal and informal training to operators and instructors, and assist in developing troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience integrating satellite communication equipment and software, or 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 2+ years of experience with a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of both theories and principles of electrical, mechanical, RF, and software systems, troubleshooting skills for RF and computer network systems, ability to manage time to meet assigned deadlines, and ability to function well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ within one year of start date, and possession of a United States Passport and an active driver's license.
  • Clearance: Possess and maintain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance, with the ability to possess and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience integrating satellite communication equipment and software, or 5+ years of experience with an Associate's degree in a related field, or 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 2+ years of experience with a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Prior knowledge of the satellite communication industry, prior knowledge of satellite ground networks, prior experience in formal technical test events, knowledge of satellite cellular industry, knowledge of MS Windows client/server and Linux-based operating systems, familiarity with a wide array of test equipment, and familiarity with Microsoft Visio.
  • Certifications: Possess and maintain an active DoD Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
