The Space Operations Command (SpOC) mission focuses on generating and enhancing combat-ready space forces, providing operational support for services and combatant commands, and advocating for space power from development to deployment. The SATCOM Mission Area Team (MAT) is dedicated to equipping forces with resilient, persistent, survivable, and highly mobile military and commercial satellite communications capabilities.
- Deliver Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) along with subject matter expertise (SME) for the SATCOM MAT, specifically for Protected SATCOM systems such as Milstar, Advanced EHF, Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS), Enhanced Polar System (EPS), EPS-Recapitalization (EPS-R), Teleports, and Gateways. The contractor will utilize extensive technical knowledge of SATCOM principles and operations across both unclassified and classified platforms.
- Assist Functional Area Managers (FAM) and Weapon System Leads in USSF Command and Control (C2) operations by reviewing and recommending strategies for the generation, presentation, and sustainment of space operational forces; provide technical guidance in developing and reviewing policies regarding personnel and equipment oversight utilizing the Defense Readiness and Reporting System (DRRS); implement and update USSF Readiness Reporting for mission essential tasks (METs), publish mission directives, validate monthly Mission Essential Task List (METL) assessments, support the development of Unit Type Codes (UTCs), and monitor readiness reporting and force posturing activities. Additionally, aid in the preparation, review, coordination, and presentation of readiness briefings for HQ USSF and SpOC senior leadership.
- Provide analytical support through document review and recommendations related to USSF/SpOC involvement in Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) operations.
- Support the authorization or review of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) documents for SATCOM C2 systems.
- Gather and analyze inputs for resource adjustments to the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process as needed, including Program Objective Memorandum (POM), Financial Execution Plans, and other budget initiatives advocating for resource adjustments for the SATCOM POM submission, and assist in the development, review, and recommendation of execution year funding efforts, including Unfunded Requirements (UFR), Budget Execution Review, and end-of-year funding.
- Facilitate Operational Acceptance, Initial Operational Capability (IOC)/Full Operational Capability (FOC) declarations, and modification management of current and/or future USSF C2 mission capabilities in line with established USSF protocols.
- Monitor and provide reviews and feedback via the Task Management Tool (TMT) from congressional, Services, combatant commands, field commands, and other stakeholders.

Salary Pay Range: $100-125K.
