Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team at The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of personnel and payroll, including online transactions, financial management, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all personnel and payroll functions, including online transactions, financial management, and administrative support.
  • Process biweekly and monthly payroll, retroactive salary adjustments, promotions, and payroll expenses transfers.
  • Update and maintain employee databases and personnel files.
  • Coordinate visa requests and extensions as needed.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and ensure accurate transactions.
  • Work closely with supervisors and employees to resolve any anomalies.
  • Assist in job posting and recruiting processes, including interpreting and applying policies.
  • Provide administrative support to the MSO as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in HR administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and staff personnel policies and procedures, including UCPATH, PPS, MAP, AFSCME, and Academic Apprentice personnel policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information, analyze problems, and make recommendations for effective resolutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other business applications.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Conditions of Employment
  • Background check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan background check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
