Position Summary

The Performance Computing Power (PCP) division is on the lookout for a seasoned Digital IC Designer to enhance our capabilities in power management and multiphase solutions tailored for CPUs and custom ASIC power.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Definition: Act as a pivotal contributor in the product definition process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze trade-offs and finalize specifications for new initiatives.
  • Architecture & Design: Design and integrate low-power digital circuits for mixed-signal power management products, ensuring adherence to advanced process node specifications.
  • RTL Design: Lead the digital RTL design process, ensuring compliance with timing, area, power, and relevant standards.
  • Design Flow Participation: Engage in all phases of the design flow, including micro-architecture, design partitioning, and synthesis, while collaborating with P&R teams.
  • Verification: Collaborate with verification engineers to create complex test scenarios for pre-silicon validation.
  • Model Development: Assist in the development of AMS, SystemVerilog, or Verilog-Real behavioral models.
  • Integration & Simulation: Conduct block- and top-level simulations to ensure design integrity.
  • DFT & Layout: Contribute to DFT strategies and collaborate with P&R teams to ensure layouts meet design requirements.
  • Debug & Documentation: Support debugging efforts and develop comprehensive design documentation.
  • Design Reviews: Lead design reviews, ensuring all necessary checklists are completed.
  • Problem Solving: Document device errata and implement engineering changes as required.
  • Innovation & Strategy: Maintain high standards for cost/performance and contribute to product strategy and planning.
  • Cultural Leadership: Promote and embody the core values of Renesas.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Over 20 years in digital design, particularly in power management and related fields.
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Digital Interfaces: Strong knowledge of digital interfaces and protocols, with proven experience in mass production.
  • Power Management: Deep understanding of multiphase buck converter architecture.
  • RTL Design: Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog for digital CMOS circuit design.
  • ASIC Methodology: Familiarity with ASIC design methodologies and verification techniques.
  • Debugging: Proven skills in debugging RTL and gate-level simulations.
  • Automation: Experience with design flow automation and mixed-signal methodologies.
  • Timing Closure: Expertise in timing closure and low-power design techniques.
  • Power Analysis: Knowledge of power analysis and optimization techniques.
  • Verification Methodologies: Familiarity with advanced verification methodologies.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
