POSITION OVERVIEW:


In this prominent position, as the Lead Engineering Program Manager, you will oversee a diverse, international engineering team tasked with spearheading critical engineering projects from inception to implementation for next-generation AMD client platform offerings.


CANDIDATE PROFILE:


The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in technical program management, with a proven history of successfully delivering complex software and hardware initiatives, from initial concept to customer delivery, leveraging large, cross-functional teams to strategize and execute system-level products.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of the technical challenges associated with computing system solutions, encompassing the interplay of silicon, platform, firmware, and software components.

Your enthusiasm for working in a dynamic technical organization and multi-site setting will be evident.

You are driven to make a significant impact in the industry and are passionate about collaborating with business and engineering teams, as well as our clients, to devise innovative solutions to challenging problems.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineering Program Manager is responsible for planning and executing platform-solution engineering functions to deliver top-tier customer solutions.
Facilitates alignment between AMD business unit product deliverables and customer platforms to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Collaborates with technical and business leadership to comprehend and document program scope, establish integrated timelines, evaluate and manage program progress, risks, and mitigation strategies, and oversee resource and budget planning.

Manages comprehensive validation and platform execution.

Represents the Client Systems Engineering organization in corporate planning and execution forums, including presentations to senior leadership.

Supports customer-facing engineering and business teams in setting product maturity and schedule expectations, overseeing the development and dissemination of documented product materials, and resolving issues.

Develops and shares best-in-class processes to enhance and expand the organization to meet emerging challenges.
People Management - mentors and guides geographically distributed technical teams, fostering collaboration and coordinating activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in driving product development with hardware platforms and associated software ecosystems. Specific experience with x86 SOC products, firmware, and PC industry suppliers/OEMs is advantageous.

Broad knowledge of x86 CPU/SoC/Chipset/Graphics architecture, firmware, and experience in functional, electrical, power-performance, or security pre- and post-silicon validation.

Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts and lead/manage technical teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to assess risks and trade-offs and present solution options to executive leadership.
Ability to influence across multiple internal functional organizations.
Skilled in engaging with customers, partners, and managing joint-development projects.
Ability to distill complex technical discussions into clear action plans and tailored messaging for diverse audiences.
Adaptability to address business and technical changes throughout the program lifecycle from both internal and customer perspectives.
Familiarity with budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with executive-level presentation capabilities.
Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
Experienced in utilizing MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, or Confluence for effective communication and coordination of work.
Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA, and similar Systems Engineering requirements management and defect tracking tools.
Experience with Agile software and project development methodologies is preferred.
Proactive with demonstrated creative, situational, and critical thinking problem-solving abilities.
Ability to quickly and independently network to align resources towards a common goal.
Willingness to support limited domestic and international travel.
Over 8 years of Program Management experience, over 5 years of people management experience, and over 15 years of relevant experience in the Semiconductor Industry, specifically in New Product Development or Introduction.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
A Master's in Business Administration or PMI PMP Certification is a plus.
