Production Equipment Specialist

Division Overview:
ITW Residential and Renovation Construction excels in providing premium branded cordless nailing systems and fastening solutions tailored for professional remodelers and residential framers. Our focus is on aggressive market expansion while maintaining profitability.
Position Summary:
This role involves the setup, operation, and preventive maintenance of fastener manufacturing machinery to ensure production meets quality standards safely.
Shift Details:
Split Shift | Monday - Friday | 10:00am-6:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various inline machinery for cold heading, point forming, and thread rolling of fasteners used in commercial construction.
- Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance on machinery, including preventive maintenance tasks.
- Perform quality inspections in accordance with specification sheets and maintain accurate documentation.
- Promote safety practices by identifying potential hazards.
- Analyze and troubleshoot production and equipment issues.
- Inspect all incoming tooling thoroughly.
- Monitor production equipment performance and assist in implementing upgrades and enhancements.
- Develop tooling requirements and evaluate parts and product designs.
- Assist with equipment installation as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards.
- Engage in 6-S activities and improvements as required.
- Collaborate with and train team members, participating in team events and meetings.
- Willingness to operate machinery and run production lines as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
- A minimum of five years of experience in high-volume manufacturing is highly preferred (e.g., equipment setup/operation/changeover, familiarity with measurement tools, and preventive maintenance knowledge).
- Availability to work assigned shifts with potential mandatory overtime, including weekends.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics and follow detailed instructions.
- Prior experience with hand tools (e.g., wrenches) is beneficial.
- Capable of recognizing and diagnosing parts and issues, providing effective solutions.
- Must be able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for travel between locations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- General housekeeping responsibilities.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
