This role involves the setup, operation, and preventive maintenance of fastener manufacturing machinery to ensure production aligns with quality standards while maintaining safety protocols.
- Set up and operate various inline machinery for the cold heading, pointing, and thread rolling of fasteners used in commercial construction.
- Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment, including preventive maintenance tasks.
- Perform quality inspections in accordance with specification sheets and maintain accurate documentation.
- Promote safety practices by identifying potential hazards.
- Analyze and troubleshoot production and equipment issues.
- Inspect all incoming tooling thoroughly.
- Monitor production equipment performance and assist in implementing upgrades and enhancements.
- Determine tooling requirements and evaluate parts and product designs.
- Assist with equipment installation as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to housekeeping standards and practices.
- Engage in 6-S activities and improvements as required.
- Collaborate with and train team members while participating in team events and meetings.
- Willingness to operate machinery as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
- A minimum of five years of experience in high-volume manufacturing is highly desirable, particularly in equipment setup, operation, and preventive maintenance.
- Availability to work assigned shifts, including potential mandatory overtime and weekends.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics while following detailed instructions.
- Experience with hand tools, such as wrenches.
- Capability to identify parts and issues, providing effective solutions.
- Strong teamwork skills are essential.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for travel between locations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- General housekeeping responsibilities.
- Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
