Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Establish and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly objectives to team members.
    • Organize and implement the daily production plan for the paint shop, utilizing SSRS reports to optimize efficiency.
    • Monitor and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) levels below 7 days total.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that all production activities are carried out in accordance with company safety standards and 5S guidelines.
    • Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, reporting potential hazards to designated personnel or supervisors.
  • Training and Development
    • Take ownership of training programs, documenting training trackers and check sheets.
    • Facilitate team and employee development, problem-solving, and resolution.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Monitor employee productivity and suggest improvements to optimize efficiency.
    • Oversee the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
    • Perform verification of production output according to specifications.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Effective communication with other manufacturing departments.
    • Work closely with Material Specialists to ensure accurate inventory management.
    • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to maintain and repair tools and machinery.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Support and participate in continuous improvement activities.
    • Develop a cross-trained workforce.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace painting environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Accountability - ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.
    • Accuracy - ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
    • Organized - possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
    • Detail-oriented - ability to pay attention to minute details of a project or task.
    • Reliability - the trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
  • Physical Requirements
    • May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. May lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
    • Long periods of sitting and/or standing.
    • Requires manual dexterity.
    • Requires repetitive use of hands.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly. The employee will be exposed to:

  • Excessive noise (hearing protection required).
  • Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (regularly).
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally).
  • Hazardous equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, cranes, or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually).

The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, respiratory protection (if applicable), and safety footwear is required.
