Position Summary

The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for managing the operations within the Roxtec Fabrication Shop, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure and orderly work environment by implementing safety regulations and conducting regular safety briefings.
  • Oversee the Fabrication Shop team’s assignments and timetable to fulfill client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to uphold quality standards and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Work in conjunction with the Production Planning Coordinator to develop and sustain the shop schedule.
  • Coordinate external operations by liaising with suppliers and managing procurement orders.
  • Monitor the usage of raw materials and keep accurate maintenance logs.
  • Evaluate shop performance and introduce cost-reduction strategies.
  • Enhance workflow productivity and ensure timely deliveries while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist in the documentation of product processes and structures for precision.
  • Provide cost estimates for custom fabrication based on technical drawings.
  • Facilitate training and assessments for shop personnel.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, safety practices, and maintenance protocols.
  • Strong communication abilities and mechanical understanding.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Education and Experience Requirements

A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with supervisory experience in welding.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication is essential.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Frequent standing/walking required.

Continuous sitting may be necessary.

Occasional pushing/pulling/bending required.

Fine manipulation and reaching may be necessary occasionally.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
