Key Responsibilities
The Patient Intake Specialist is responsible for receiving and evaluating incoming referral and order calls, ensuring effective communication of patient and referral information to the relevant teams. Key duties include:
- Collecting demographic and clinical data from clients, physician offices, and other referral sources to compile referrals.
- Verifying the licenses of new referring physicians associated with the referrals processed in the department.
- Researching coverage options or payment sources for each referral and confirming commercial policies and HIQA.
- Educating potential patients, families, physicians, and hospitals about the home health services available.
- Acting as a liaison between clinical and marketing teams.

Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- At least one (1) year of experience in office procedures.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in insurance or medical settings.
