Job Overview:
We have an opening for a PRN Appointment Coordinator. This role is essential in managing the master schedule of patient appointments for outpatient clinic visits.

Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing Daily Clinic Operations:
- Accurately schedule or reschedule clinic appointments in SHCIS in a timely manner.
- Ensure that outpatients scheduled for visits are registered in SHCIS, and that labels, itineraries, and ID sheets are placed appropriately in front of charts.
- Send written notifications regarding regularly scheduled appointments to patients, families, and relevant parties.
- Provide verbal notifications of add-ons and unscheduled appointments to nursing staff upon patient arrival.
- Prepare clinic schedules without errors and distribute computer copies by 4:00 PM the day before the clinic.
- Orient new patients and families to the outpatient department and explain HIPAA and clinic forms prior to the initial appointment.

Maintaining a Professional Environment:
- Keep the clinic reception and copy areas tidy and organized at all times.

Effective Communication:
- Answer telephone calls promptly, within 3-4 rings.
- Direct identified issues to the appropriate staff member.

Commitment to Professional Development:
- Attend all mandatory in-services, including annual CPR training, and participate in at least 75% of non-mandatory hospital in-services.
- Attend 80% of monthly staff meetings and review and initial the minutes.
- Complete self-evaluations prior to scheduled conferences with the Director.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED in General Studies is required.

Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year in scheduling, registration, and insurance verification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications is required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Certification and Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

All candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated.
