Oncology Nursing Specialist
Full-Time Position
As an Oncology Nursing Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Administering chemotherapeutic agents to patients as prescribed by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines. Ensuring the safe disposal of biohazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and HRS regulations.
- Conducting ongoing assessments of patient conditions.
- Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation in OncoEMR regarding treatments provided, ensuring that all medication charges are appropriately captured.
- Following the Company's identification policy during patient interactions. Providing education to patients and their families about medications, potential side effects, and treatment plans.
- Managing telephone triage, prioritizing calls and messages from patients, families, and healthcare facilities, responding appropriately and timely.
- Assisting with inventory management and restocking of medical supplies as necessary, recommending new purchases when needed.
- Utilizing Nucleus for medication dispensing, performing cycle counts, and ensuring timely restocking of medications while entering patient charges accurately.
- Participating in annual Safety/OSHA training and mandatory staff meetings.
- Upholding the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
- Supporting the training of new staff in relevant job functions.
- Flexibility to work at various locations as required by the Company's operational needs.
- Complying with all federal and state regulations regarding patient privacy, rights, and employment law, while adhering to Company policies and procedures.
Oncology Nursing Specialist
Full-Time Position
To qualify for the Oncology Nursing Specialist role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment, with a preference for candidates with IV therapy experience.
- Experience working with hematology/oncology patients in clinical or hospital settings is preferred.
- Strong assessment skills to evaluate patient needs and conditions are essential, along with the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Current CPR and BLS certifications are mandatory.
- Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills, both oral and written, is required.
