Job Overview:
We are seeking a PRN Appointment Coordinator to oversee the management of patient appointment schedules for outpatient clinic visits.

Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing Daily Clinic Operations:
- Accurately schedules or reschedules clinic appointments in the system in a timely manner.
- Ensures that outpatients scheduled for visits are registered correctly and that necessary documentation is prepared.
- Sends written notifications regarding scheduled appointments to patients and families.
- Communicates any add-ons or unscheduled appointments to nursing staff upon patient arrival.
- Prepares clinic schedules without errors and distributes copies as required.
- Orients new patients and families regarding clinic procedures and necessary forms.

Maintaining a Professional Environment:
- Ensures that the clinic reception and related areas are kept clean and organized at all times.

Effective Communication:
- Answers incoming calls promptly and refers issues to the appropriate personnel.

Commitment to Professional Development:
- Attends all mandatory training sessions and a significant portion of optional in-services.
- Participates in monthly staff meetings and reviews meeting minutes.
- Completes self-evaluations prior to scheduled performance reviews.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED in General Studies is required.

Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in scheduling, registration, and insurance verification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
