Position Overview

The esteemed Global Research division plays a pivotal role in supporting institutional sales and trading teams, along with their clientele. Our analytical expertise is integral to the value we provide to our investor clients. Research analysts deliver insightful, objective, and decisive analyses aimed at empowering clients to make informed investment choices across six primary disciplines.

Intern Responsibilities

Research Analyst Interns will engage in a variety of tasks including modeling and analysis, conducting primary research, and authoring key reports. Responsibilities may vary from routine tasks (daily, weekly, etc.) to longer-term, project-based assignments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Compiling historical financial models utilizing SEC filings, corporate conference calls, and press releases.
  • Performing financial, statistical, and industry analyses on firms and sectors to substantiate the team's investment strategies.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the industries and companies under the team's purview, while investigating sector trends that could influence company or sector recommendations.
  • Drafting concise notes and extensive reports (Primers) on economies, markets, and/or industries; contributing to daily, weekly, or monthly reports.

Interns will be assigned to a specific industry sector team throughout the internship duration. They will have the opportunity to collaborate on group projects and presentations, allowing them to learn not only from their own assignments but also from the experiences of fellow interns.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree or a direct-to-Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.5 is preferred.
  • Candidates should exhibit a blend of academic proficiency, innovative thinking, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in accounting and quantitative analysis is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to quality control in their work are essential.
  • A client-focused mindset with a drive to exceed expectations for internal clients.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • A genuine interest in the U.S. capital markets, with the ability to learn and utilize various market data sources.
  • Capability to create and maintain financial models, particularly in Credit Research.
  • A passion for research and a strong desire to learn.
  • Highly motivated individuals with a determination to excel.
  • Outgoing personality with a strong personal presence.
  • Sound judgment and business acumen.
