Category: Analyst

Overview

Please note: 1st Round Interviews will take place virtually. All applications should be submitted via our website. Individual school application deadlines are listed on the events calendar. THE ANALYST ROLE

As an Analyst, you will hold a significant position at Cornerstone Research. You will be engaged as a generalist, which allows you to participate in projects that cover various practice areas, including finance, antitrust, intellectual property, consumer fraud, product liability, accounting, and more. Our project teams typically consist of an academic or industry expert, senior consultants, and fellow Analysts. Within these teams, you will contribute meaningfully throughout all stages of a project—from formulating case strategies to executing intricate analyses and preparing experts for testimony. Every day presents a new learning opportunity.

WHAT DOES CASE WORK AT CORNERSTONE RESEARCH INVOLVE?

We emphasize collaboration. Our Analysts do not travel to client sites; the majority of work is conducted from our local offices or remotely. This ensures that you will frequently collaborate with your colleagues, even if you are not engaged in the same projects. In terms of casework, you can anticipate the following:

  • Working on multiple cases concurrently to enhance your skillset and discover the type of work you enjoy.
  • Engaging in both quantitative and qualitative analyses, with some cases leaning more towards one than the other.
  • Each Cornerstone Research office is supported by a Staffing & Development Manager, who oversees your case assignments while focusing on your professional growth.
  • Opportunities to interact with senior consultants, academic and industry experts, attorneys, and clients.
  • Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
    • Creating financial and economic models;
    • Analyzing extensive datasets;
    • Investigating market and industry trends;
    • Conducting research through academic literature and relevant industry sources;
    • Assisting in the preparation of expert reports;
    • Presenting findings to colleagues, clients, and their legal representatives.
ANALYST DEVELOPMENT

From the outset, we prioritize equipping you with the necessary information, training, and resources to ensure your success. Your journey at the firm will commence with a thorough orientation and training program designed to familiarize you with the firm and facilitate your integration. Additionally, we offer ongoing learning and development initiatives where you will acquire advanced analytical and statistical techniques applicable to your daily casework, as well as soft skills essential for effective collaboration with case teams, clients, and experts. The firm provides numerous opportunities for Analysts to engage in and often lead initiatives beyond casework, including social committees, affinity groups, volunteer programs, and recruiting efforts, ensuring a well-rounded experience.

LONG-TERM GROWTH

We are committed to the long-term professional development of our Analysts and acknowledge their contributions to both casework and the firm. The analytical rigor of our assignments, coupled with diverse industry exposure, serves as excellent preparation for graduate studies. In addition to the experience gained through casework, we offer multiple resources for those pursuing top graduate programs in business, economics, and law. Many Analysts choose to continue their careers at Cornerstone Research, with several senior consultants, including Partners, having begun their journeys as Analysts. Furthermore, high-performing Analysts may qualify for graduate school financial assistance and a position to return to the firm after completing their graduate studies.

QUALIFICATIONS

If the Analyst role resonates with you, we encourage you to consider applying. We seek well-rounded, motivated individuals for our Analyst position. Our qualifications include:

  • Currently in your senior year of an undergraduate program or completing a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated strong academic performance.
  • Robust analytical background, through academic pursuits or internships.
  • Interest in business and economics.
  • Preference for candidates who have completed at least one relevant internship in business, economics, data, or similar fields.

Cornerstone Research will provide visa support to qualified candidates with STEM-eligible degrees.
