Position Summary

Under the guidance of a Foreman, Startup Technician, or Project Manager, you will be responsible for the installation of commercial access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems. The role requires completing projects efficiently and safely while performing additional tasks as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures set forth by Tri-M.
  • Maintain compliance with all employment policies and standards of conduct to positively represent the company.
  • Manage jobsite labor effectively.
  • Install and lay out cable raceways.
  • Install and terminate devices related to access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV.
  • Oversee subcontractors and external services efficiently.
  • Manage the project closeout process.
  • Supervise the installation of specialized electrical systems (e.g., intrusion, CCTV, security).
  • Administer assigned projects diligently.
  • Request materials as necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation to support field operations, including final reports.

Qualifications

Skills and Educational Background:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus but not mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of experience in security system installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret security drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in testing and terminating Ethernet cables for CCTV setups.
  • Capable of installing and wiring various security devices.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and data entry.
  • Familiarity with other construction trades is advantageous.
  • Must possess confidence, decisiveness, and self-motivation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work a standard 40-hour week, with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours.
  • Stand and climb for 4 to 6 hours daily.
  • Kneel, lift, reach above shoulders, and bend for 4 to 5 hours daily.
  • Twist and walk for 2 to 3 hours daily.
  • Squat and sit for 1 to 2 hours daily.
  • Lift weights ranging from 0 to 75 lbs, with varying frequencies for different weight categories.
  • Ability to lift objects from the floor to above shoulder height.
  • Repetitive hand use for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor tasks.
  • Repetitive foot use for operating equipment and climbing.
  • Vision adequate for reading blueprints and color coding.
  • Balance required for climbing ladders and working at heights.
  • Work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and exposure to dust and fumes.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment as necessary for safety.
