About the Role:
The Global Risk Operations team at Meta is dedicated to addressing real-time crises and proactively identifying potential risks that could impact our community. This team conducts thorough investigations into risk-related incidents and continually assesses strategies to enhance our community's safety. The Detection team, a vital part of Global Risk Operations, focuses on identifying emerging risks on our platform that may pose threats to both users and businesses. We strive to understand these risks comprehensively and work collaboratively with various teams, including Policy, Product, and Process teams, to effectively mitigate them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies for risk detection utilizing advanced technologies and processes.
  • Facilitate the adoption of technical solutions that enhance risk detection capabilities across a global team.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to translate operational workflows into clear tooling and data requirements.
  • Identify and develop signals to detect significant content risks.
  • Monitor and analyze both on-platform and off-platform signals to identify emerging risk trends.
  • Conduct investigations into content and user behavior to detect violations of Community Standards and gain insights into emerging trends.
  • Work with internal experts to build a comprehensive understanding of how various forms of risk manifest across Meta platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement mitigation strategies for identified risks, including enforcement actions against violating trends.
  • Synthesize complex datasets and investigative findings into clear and effective communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in investigations, data analytics, or technical systems roles within Trust & Safety or Risk Operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience working with complex datasets and a strong aptitude for risk identification and analysis.
  • Proven ability to partner with technical teams (product and/or data).
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in communicating technical analysis results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Awareness of global current events, including developments in law, politics, technology, and culture.
  • Ability to work with potentially graphic and objectionable content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LLM and GEN AI technologies.
  • Background in actor behavior, regulatory, or eCommerce investigations.
  • Proficiency in a second language.
