About MUFG's Project Finance Team:

MUFG is a leader in project finance, assisting clients in acquiring, constructing, or refinancing assets across various sectors, including energy, transportation, and social infrastructure. Our project finance division is recognized as one of the most active globally, consistently ranked as the top project finance bank in the Americas since 2009.

The project finance team consists of around 70 professionals who are engaged in originating, structuring, and executing debt financing transactions. These transactions encompass bank loan arrangements, senior notes placements, and advisory services, often involving derivatives for risk management. Our team collaborates closely with MUFG's debt capital markets and global markets divisions to provide comprehensive financing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the origination and execution of debt financing transactions, collaborating with senior management.
  • Identify and evaluate new business prospects, leading the screening process for senior management approval.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, participating in client meetings.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis and due diligence, reviewing various reports and financial models.
  • Guide the development of financial projections, including cash flow and debt structure analyses.
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with project financing transactions.
  • Advise clients on financial and operational structures suitable for non-recourse debt financing.
  • Conduct credit ratings analysis and assist in securing ratings for transactions.
  • Review and negotiate financing documentation and term sheets.
  • Lead the creation of marketing materials for financing transactions.
  • Manage compliance processes, including profitability analysis and legal due diligence.
  • Ensure smooth transaction execution across all stages, from origination to closing.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.
  • Exemplify MUFG's client-centric culture and serve as a role model for colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial services sector, with a focus on project finance.
  • Ability to anticipate workflow and manage tasks proactively.
  • Resourceful self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Expertise in structuring and negotiating credit documentation.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and cash flow analysis.
  • Understanding of key financial products such as loans and interest rate swaps.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
The typical base salary range for this position is between $190K - $230K, depending on relevant experience and skills. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, and paid leave.
