Position Overview

The Security Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and company assets. This position is accountable for overseeing the Security Department's functions during assigned shifts, ensuring a high standard of guest service and effective resolution of conflicts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Colonial Downs Group LLC.
  • Foster a Service Culture that guarantees exceptional service delivery by all team members.
  • Direct and manage the daily operations of security personnel during their respective shifts.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to performance, personnel, and operations.
  • Ensure the physical security of the premises and company resources.
  • Oversee the safety of guests and employees, recommending enhancements as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and collaborate with Human Resources as required.
  • Coordinate the rotation of security officers across various posts.
  • Facilitate training sessions for security personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures throughout the shift.
  • May be required to operate company vehicles or equipment, necessitating a valid Driver's License. Responsible for training, developing, and scheduling security staff.
  • Communicate essential information to security team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about all promotions and events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE DUTIES:

In addition to the responsibilities outlined, each team member is expected to comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Participate in mandatory training sessions provided by the company.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Execute duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Implement measures to prevent minors from engaging in gambling activities or accessing restricted areas.
  • Possess knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, and policies relevant to the department.
  • Be aware of the Property's initiatives addressing problem gaming.
  • Report any observed misconduct or violations.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience in law enforcement, military, security, or customer service totaling three to five years, or actively pursuing a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of an internal training program.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend information in both spoken and written English.
  • Capability to prioritize and follow through on work directives.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations, utilizing sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • A valid driver's license may be required, along with a clean driving record.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work during nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to walk, run, kneel, stretch, push, twist, bend, and lift.
  • Visual acuity to perform close-up tasks and maintain peripheral awareness.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver's License with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
