Position Overview:


The Healthcare Social Services Aide plays a vital role in assisting the Social Services department, ensuring that all medically related emotional and social requirements of patients are addressed in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and the standards set by Life Care.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make autonomous decisions when necessary
  • Familiarity with practices, procedures, and the legal framework governing operations in post-acute care facilities
  • Implement and clarify the programs, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
  • Exhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
  • Uphold confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
  • Adhere to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing all required compliance training

Core Duties:

  • Support the social services program to address the medically related social and emotional needs of patients while adhering to Federal, State, corporate, and division guidelines
  • Ensure timely and appropriate documentation in accordance with State regulations
  • Assist social workers in providing support to patients and families through education, financial planning assistance, and coordination with community organizations
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients
  • Aid in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
  • Exhibit reliable and consistent attendance
  • Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in various situations
  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout working hours
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
