Key Responsibilities
  • Referral Processing: Ensure all necessary information is collected and documented for referrals to outside ancillary services, including insurance and authorization codes.
  • Specialist Communication: Establish and maintain relationships with external specialists, confirming their ability to accept patients and coordinating appointment scheduling.
  • Patient Notification: Inform patients of referral details, including appointment dates and times, and provide instructions for rescheduled appointments.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all interactions and referrals in our electronic health record system, ensuring compliance with Swope Health policies and procedures.
  • Tracking and Follow-up: Monitor referrals and track progress, ensuring timely completion and follow-up with patients and specialists as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program graduation preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience working in a medical office environment, with basic life support certification preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
