Educational Support Technician

Position Overview:

The role of the Instruction & Classroom Support Technician involves providing essential assistance within the educational laboratories associated with veterinary medicine. This position is integral to the Clinical Instructional Service area, where the technician will support students during practical sessions and surgical procedures, ensuring that they receive the necessary pre-operative and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate student engagement during instructional laboratories.
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • May supervise temporary staff as required.

Qualifications:

For Technician Level 1:

  • Minimum of six months of relevant full-time experience or equivalent educational background.

For Technician Level 2:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

For Technician Level 3:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a basic applied science along with two years of experience as a Technician Level 2 or equivalent.

General Requirements:

  • Successful completion of radiation safety training is mandatory.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in a teaching or laboratory environment.
  • Experience with both small and large animal care.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary ranges are determined by the technician level, with increments based on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, and retirement plans.
