Position Overview:

This role involves providing essential support in veterinary instructional laboratories within the Clinical Instructional Service area. Responsibilities include assisting students during practical sessions and surgical procedures, as well as offering pre- and post-operative care as required. The position also entails ordering necessary supplies and maintaining laboratory equipment. Depending on qualifications, candidates may be appointed at various levels.

Qualifications Required:

For Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 1:

  • Minimum of six months of full-time experience or training in a relevant field; or equivalent education/experience.

For Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 2:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant instructional area; or equivalent education/experience.

For Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 3:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a basic applied science along with two years of full-time experience as a Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 2; or equivalent education/experience.

General Requirements for All Applicants:

  • Successful completion of radiation safety training exam is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a teaching or laboratory environment.
  • Experience with both small and large animals.

Compensation:

Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 1: $3,393 to $4,517 | Range 39 (Steps A-M)

Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 2: $3,811 to $5,117 | Range 44 (Steps A-M)

Veterinary Instruction Support Specialist 3: $4,093 to $5,501 | Range 47 (Steps A-M)

Typically, successful candidates start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled increments.
