The role of the Dry Goods Planner is a hybrid position, requiring candidates to work from the office at least two days a week. Therefore, applicants should reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the designated office location.

This position is pivotal in analyzing demand patterns and managing forecasts and purchase orders to ensure optimal inventory levels across all locations. The successful candidate will actively track item supply and demand to mitigate risks associated with spoilage, obsolescence, transfers, or redeliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and sustain demand forecasting processes.
  • Evaluate historical usage and forecasting reports to ensure accurate demand data for automated systems.
  • Manage sales history and refine forecasts to meet customer demand effectively.
  • Provide insights and feedback on forecasting data received from Chain Management.
  • Address vendor-related issues and collaborate to resolve supply chain disruptions.
  • Initiate and track purchase orders using system reports to maximize in-stock levels while minimizing inventory exposure and balancing freight costs.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with other Distribution Center functions to achieve operational targets.
  • Manage inventory flow and levels to enhance receiving, storage, picking, and loading operations.
  • Maintain inventory levels to reduce risks of obsolescence and spoilage.
  • Coordinate with the transportation team to optimize backhauls and freight income opportunities.
  • Handle inter-division challenges such as transfers, allocations, and quality control issues.
  • Monitor and assess performance metrics, including in-stock levels, perfect order performance, inventory levels, inter-division transfer costs, and obsolescence rates.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, industrial distribution, or a related field.
  • Strong dedication to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Capacity to quickly learn new systems effectively.
  • Candidates may undergo a background check and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws.
