Overview
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory operations within the facility, which includes managing supply chain procurement, receiving processes, product packaging, and order fulfillment. This role is crucial in driving the inventory strategy and ensuring that product orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes a comprehensive inventory tracking system to monitor incoming shipments and operational supply purchases.
- Builds and leads a team of inventory specialists, encompassing roles in receiving, purchasing, fulfillment, and transportation.
- Conducts regular cycle counts of inventory, analyzing and reconciling discrepancies as necessary.
- Performs daily and weekly audits to ensure physical inventory aligns with internal tracking systems.
- Collaborates with operational teams to maintain an organized and updated stock of products weekly.
- Manages internal inventory transfers to ensure quality control and compliance with regulations.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of state regulations regarding medical marijuana.
- Implements an efficient order fulfillment process for receiving, scheduling, packing, and staging deliveries.
- Works closely with the sales team to ensure seamless execution of all incoming and outgoing orders.
- Facilitates inventory meetings to ensure that packaging supplies and finished products meet customer demand consistently.
- Coordinates with accounts payable and compliance teams on any invoicing or order discrepancies that require investigation.
- Oversees all aspects of product packaging inventory, including ordering, auditing, and forecasting.
- Minimizes losses through effective ordering practices and waste identification.
- Trains both new and existing staff on essential job functions.
- Manages employee attendance and performance metrics.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
- Effective and professional communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrates strong ethics and reliability.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Two to four years of relevant experience.
- Experience with data entry software (e.g., Excel) and willingness to learn new software.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to fifty pounds regularly, respond quickly to sounds, navigate uneven terrain or confined spaces, and wear personal protective equipment as needed.
