Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

Silfab Solar is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall quality and compliance of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting Output Samples: Inspect output samples using industry-appropriate methods to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Check that our assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complies with legal requirements.
  • Reviewing Blueprints and Specifications: Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods and ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Recording Inspection Results: Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes, and inputting data into our quality database.
  • Training the Production Team: Train the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
  • Proposing Improvements: Propose improvements to the production process to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Monitoring Equipment: Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet standards.
  • Reading and Interpreting Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings and radiographs to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Performing Testing: Perform testing at various stages on the manufacturing line to ensure our products meet our quality standards.
  • Collecting and Compiling Statistical Quality Data: Collect and compile statistical quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assisting in the Development of Test Methods: Assist in the development of test methods and inspection plans to ensure our products meet our quality standards.
  • Determining Root Causes: Determine the root causes of product defects and scrap to implement corrective actions.
  • Verifying Equipment Calibration: Verify that all equipment is calibrated correctly to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Performing Quality Controls: Perform quality controls following our Work Instructions (WI's) on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
  • Suggesting Improvements: Suggest improvements to our WI's to reduce scraps and improve the performance of our finished products.
  • Improving Capacity for Analysis: Improve the capacity for in-depth analysis and improvement of our processes.
  • Supporting Production Staff: Continually support the Production staff on WI's, quality, and process issues in cooperation with Management.
  • Creating Statistical Analysis and Reports: Create statistical analysis and reports on the quality of raw materials and finished products as required.
  • Maintaining Instruments of Measurement: Utilize and maintain the supplied instruments of measurement according to WI and safety standards.
  • Monitoring and Suggesting Improvements: Monitor and suggest improvements to Management on the production recipes for the various steps of the process.
  • Monitoring and Auditing Operations: Monitor and audit operations, suggesting improvements to the tools of quality control used in the production line.
  • Providing Hourly Reports: Provide hourly reports to Management via email.

  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet knows when to ask for help.
  • Proficiency with Computers: Proven proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and Excel programs, and statistical software packages.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent understanding of problem-solving techniques.
  • Team Player: Works well within a team environment.
  • Independent Work: Works well independently, and within a team environment.

  • Manufacturing Experience: Manufacturing experience in a technical role.
