Job Title: Medical Assistant/Front Desk Associate

Roswell Park Care Network is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Front Desk Associate to join our team at our Southtowns ENT practice in Orchard Park, NY.

Job Summary:

This is a dual role position that requires the ability to support our Providers with both clerical and clinical tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming visitors, coordinating patient appointments, checking insurance eligibility, and performing various administrative and clinical duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner, determine the nature of their business, and announce them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate and prepare patient appointments and itineraries.
  • Check insurance eligibility, collect and scan insurance and other required documents.
  • Perform new patient intake, including data entry into medical software.
  • Invite patients to join the patient portal and provide proper paperwork and education.
  • Check patients in and out, answer telephones, and provide routine information to callers.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and physicians.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping them neat and clean, and prepare medical instruments or equipment for use.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vitals, update patient history, reconcile medications, allergies, and quality data.
  • Record and update information accurately in patient charts, complete chart prep 24-48 hours prior to patient appointments.
  • Log accurate data for specimen testing.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, dispose of contaminated supplies, and dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, or physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Keep supplies stocked and order as needed.
Requirements:
  • Preferred: Successful completion of an accredited medical office assistant education program.
  • One year of full-time customer service experience in a clinical or administrative healthcare setting.
  • Two years of experience with Microsoft products.
