Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Concrete Construction Manager to direct and manage our concrete construction initiatives. In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing all phases of concrete projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are executed within budgetary constraints, on time, and meet the highest quality benchmarks. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, proficient project management capabilities, and a thorough understanding of concrete production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to establish project goals, scope, and specifications.
  • Create comprehensive project plans, encompassing timelines, resource distribution, and financial planning.
  • Guarantee compliance with safety standards, building regulations, and industry best practices throughout all project activities.
  • Track project advancement, pinpoint potential challenges or delays, and devise strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Manage the acquisition of concrete supplies, machinery, and subcontractor services.
  • Recruit, onboard, and oversee project personnel, including site managers, foremen, and subcontractors.
  • Provide clear leadership, direction, and support to the project team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Encourage a cooperative and positive work atmosphere that fosters teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance assessments to evaluate progress and address any concerns.
  • Promote professional growth and training opportunities for team members.
  • Formulate and manage project budgets, ensuring precise cost estimation and expense monitoring.
  • Analyze project costs, review budget discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Review and authorize project invoices, change orders, and payment requests.
  • Work with the estimating team to prepare accurate and competitive proposals for new projects.
  • Establish and uphold quality control protocols to ensure that concrete construction meets or surpasses industry standards and client expectations.
  • Perform regular inspections and quality audits to identify and rectify any construction defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Implement necessary corrective and preventive measures to uphold project quality and integrity.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, addressing inquiries, providing project updates, and resolving issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular progress meetings and generate reports to keep stakeholders informed about project status, milestones, and significant developments.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager in concrete construction.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of concrete construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource allocation.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for negotiation, conflict resolution, and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass a background check to operate company vehicles.
  • Travel is a requirement.
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Work primarily outdoors, occasionally indoors, in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to demonstrate a full range of motion with neck, arms, shoulders, hands, torso, legs, and feet.
  • Visual acuity: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information tactfully.
  • Encourage others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Possess small hand tools as necessary.

  • Monday – Friday in office
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Day shift
  • Evenings and weekends as required
