Position Summary

The Case Aide will collaborate with staff to manage social service cases effectively. This role involves assessing client needs, aiding in the formulation and execution of service plans, recommending and securing necessary services, and gathering essential information for case managers to assist clients in achieving suitable living arrangements based on their identified needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate initial housing placements in partnership with case managers, which includes researching and securing apartments, arranging for furniture and household goods, coordinating transportation and volunteers for housing setup, and ensuring utility services are activated;
  • Assist clients during housing transitions, addressing challenges and crises, including landlord mediation and emergency financial support;
  • Support Case Managers in maintaining case files by updating management systems, reporting databases, and physical files while ensuring confidentiality;
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Experience in providing resettlement services is highly desirable;
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse clients, providers, and vendors;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, and other database applications;
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are strongly preferred;
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation are required;
  • A commitment to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced individuals is essential;
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to utilize manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and auditory skills;
  • Capability to perform repetitive motions, endure prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustain visual and mental focus;
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, along with bending, pulling, and carrying.
