Job Overview

Position Summary

The Housing Services Aide will collaborate with staff to manage social service cases by evaluating client requirements, assisting in the formulation and execution of service strategies, recommending and securing necessary services, and compiling essential information for case managers to aid clients in accessing services that align with their identified needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate initial housing placements in partnership with case managers, which includes researching and securing housing options, arranging for furniture and household items, coordinating logistics for moving, and ensuring utility services are activated;
  • Assist clients during housing transitions, addressing challenges and emergencies, including mediation with landlords and providing emergency financial support;
  • Support Case Managers in maintaining accurate case files by updating management systems, reporting databases, and physical records while ensuring confidentiality;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in providing resettlement assistance is highly desirable;
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships with diverse clients, providers, and vendors;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, and database management;
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are strongly preferred;
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation are required;
  • A commitment to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced individuals is essential;
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to perform manual dexterity tasks, with tactile, visual, and auditory acuity;
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions, prolonged sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental focus;
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying may be required.
