Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Durham, NC. This role will be responsible for coordinating schedules, managing construction documents, and working closely with subcontractors and clients. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in construction administration, organization, labor, project management, or a related field, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate schedules and manage construction documents
  • Work closely with subcontractors and clients to ensure project success
  • Assist the Project Manager with office work, communications, and organization
  • Learn and apply detailed knowledge of product line, applications, and industries
  • Check and confirm shop drawings, order acknowledgements, and product data submittals
  • Deal with client concerns and issues, and work out solutions with the client and Project Manager
  • Provide reports, feedback, and results of projects and suggestions
  • Develop client relationships and build NEL's reputation as the preferred laboratory furniture and equipment firm
  • Attend project turnover meetings to ensure project information, scope, and communication are accurate, timely, and responsibilities are clearly defined
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in construction administration, organization, labor, project management, or a related field
  • 4-year college degree preferred, HS degree required
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, email, internet, and basic office infrastructure (printing/scanning)
  • Ability to understand spatial relationships and design
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs using proper lifting techniques
  • Safe, clean driving record (Employment contingent on clean Background Check)
  • Able to coordinate information and schedules
  • Well-organized and able to appropriately prioritize tasks
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Professional communication and excellent customer service
