Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educate partners on AlphaStaff's value proposition and build strong relationships to secure client introductions and leads.
  • Understand client issues and HR challenges to tailor solutions with the right mix of AlphaStaff products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with AlphaStaff partners, including local Colorado brokers and national benefits/insurance brokerages, resulting in closed deals and substantial residual compensation.
  • Generate new leads and opportunities through networking, industry connections, and creative prospecting.
  • Partner with the sales leadership team to develop strategies for targeting specific verticals or industry segments.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand the company's reach and visibility.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on PEO services and solutions to potential clients.
  • Effectively manage the sales pipeline and follow up on leads.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support lead generation and nurturing efforts.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience and proven success in selling PEO or HR outsourcing/payroll services, including to companies with 25+ and 100+ employees.
  • Proven ability to sell a complex value proposition.
  • Track record of success in channel sales is desired.
  • Proven success in building and developing client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work autonomously with limited manager support.
  • Must be computer proficient; Salesforce and experience with marketing automation are a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the PEO industry, including the competitive landscape, sales cycles, and client needs.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills to develop strategic partnerships.
  • Ability to self-generate leads and build a pipeline through creative prospecting and network connections.
  • Willingness to be out in the market building relationships rather than working solely from an office.
  • Adaptability and resilience to navigate the 9-to-12-month ramp-up period expected for new BDMs.

  • Base salary range of $75,000-$80,000 plus uncapped commission.
