The Fleet Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our vehicle fleet through routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles while adhering to all relevant regulations and company protocols.
  • Perform inspections, lubrication, and servicing of vehicles according to established maintenance schedules.
  • Apply grease, oil, and lubricants to various components during maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor and replenish fluids for vehicle systems and replace filters as necessary.
  • Evaluate vehicle support systems, including electrical, air, and braking systems.
  • Assist senior technicians with repair tasks and maintenance projects.
  • Identify and report any worn or defective components, including leaks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, materials, and workspaces.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required, such as inventory counts and parts requisitions.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment on vehicles is functioning properly.
  • Provide support in other areas of the maintenance facility as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of time, repair orders, and parts usage using computer systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of vehicle components and systems.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with foundational knowledge of vehicle upkeep and repairs.
  • Proficiency in using computers, repair manuals, and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles within the service area.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions.
  • Possession of necessary tools to complete assigned tasks.
Working Conditions:
  • Potential exposure to high-traffic environments and confined driving spaces.
  • Interaction with residential and commercial waste.
  • Willingness to travel between locations as needed.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments is mandatory.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
