Role Summary:

The Fleet Operations Manager at LT Corporation, Inc. is tasked with ensuring the safe and efficient management of the transportation fleet. This role serves as the authority on DOT compliance, offering guidance and support to the team on regulatory matters, overseeing internal audits, and ensuring adherence to DOT standards. The Manager is pivotal to the organization and is part of the LT Corporation logistics leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance and driver safety across all operational domains, including vehicle inspections, medical certifications, licensing, driver log management, and substance testing.
  • Monitor adherence to Hours-of-Service regulations, ELD usage, and federal safety standards, while managing the auditing of driver logs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and address DOT complaints in accordance with FMSCR.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive driver safety program, promoting safe operational practices through regular safety audits and collaboration with the safety manager.
  • Manage the logistics fleet, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning weight limits, permits, hazardous materials, and service hours.
  • Guide the Fleet Specialist in assessing repair needs, coordinating, and authorizing necessary equipment repairs to maintain DOT compliance.
  • Participate in the onboarding process for new drivers, emphasizing core safety principles and accident prevention.
  • Conduct fleet assessments to ensure maintenance standards meet DOT requirements, while maintaining safety documentation and records.
  • Manage accident and insurance claims, leading post-incident investigations and ensuring accurate reporting to relevant authorities.
  • Review financial documentation, monitor expenditures to align with approved budgets, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Foster collaboration within the logistics team and across operating companies to achieve efficient and effective outcomes. Build and maintain positive relationships with service providers to meet delivery requirements.
  • Exemplify LT Corporation's leadership principles, reinforcing the company's purpose, core beliefs, and values among team members.
  • Lead and mentor the Fleet Specialist, focusing on employee relations, best practices, performance management, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee budget management, analyze spending, and review financial reports to ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming regulatory compliance requirements for logistics operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation management with a focus on DOT regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and Drug & Alcohol Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rules and regulations.
  • Experience in the transportation of hazardous materials is preferred.
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party logistics providers is advantageous.

Education and Certification:

  • Occasional travel to company or vendor locations, approximately 30%.
